Ganesh is expected to finish Baanadariyali by then, while Suni will wind up both Gathavaibhava and Avatara Purusha 2
Two years ago, on Golden Star Ganesh’s birthday, filmmaker Suni announced a new project with the actor, with who he had already made on film, Chamak. At the time, Suni and Ganesh were working on their second film together, Sakath. Their third collaboration was to be a hardcore mass action drama called The Story of Rayagada.
But then, when the pandemic delayed Sakath, which eventually released in theatres only in November last year, Suni got busy with his maiden collaboration with actor Sharan, Avatara Purusha, a two-part comedy with black magic at its centre. The filmmaker, who still has to give finishing touches to Avatara Purusha part 2, if he is to meet the Dasara 2022 deadline he had set for himself to bring it to theatres, is also working on the launchpad of young actor Dushyanth. While they’d first announced a film called Robin Hood, Suni put that on hold and started Gathavaibhava instead. Amid all this, The Story of Rayagada got put on the backburner.
The latest buzz is that Suni and Ganesh will get cracking on their third film together in November this year. By then, Suni is expected to finish his current commitments, as will Ganesh, who is currently shooting for his latest film with Preetham Gubbi, Baanadariyali. Ganesh will next be seen in Yogaraj Bhat’s much-anticipated Gaalipata sequel, Gaalipata 2, which is coming to theatres on August 12. The actor’s film Tribble Riding should follow shortly thereafter, while Baanadariyalli has been announced as a Christmas 2022 film.
On Ganesh’s birthday yesterday, Suni released another poster of the film, in which the actor sports quite a cowboy look, brandishing a rifle while riding a horse. According to this post, Suni has music man Judah Sandhy on board the film. Judah has collaborated on multiple projects with Suni, like Operation Alamelamma, Chamak and Sakath, making The Story of Rayagada their fifth. Santhosh Rai Pathaje fills in as cinematographer.
