The buzz in Gandhinagar circles is that the team is eyeing a mid-November slot to release the film
Earlier this month, director Suni and his team of the upcoming Ganesh starrer Sakath, released the video song Premakke Kannilla. The romantic melody, written by Jayanth Kaikini, composed by Judah Sandhy and sung by Pancham Jeeva and Shreya Iyer, featured the lead pair – Ganesh and Nishvika Naidu – sharing a few adorable moments of affection.
What was also notable was that although the team has always maintained that both Ganesh and Nishvika play visually-challenged characters, the visuals from the song, at least, imply that he may not have issues with his vision after all. In fact, Ganesh has been quoted saying that playing a visually-challenged person was a first for him and quite challenging at that. So, the question now is, is Ganesh’s character Baalu, a visually-challenged singer after all, or is he pretending, so as to be a part of a reality show and score sympathy brownie points?
Hopefully, we will get some clarity when Suni releases the teaser of Sakath’s Baalu on October 24. Ganesh had shared the news on social media, writing, “Get ready guys.. #Sakkathbaalu on the way 2 meet you…Do you know y v call him #Sakkathbaalu? Watch teaser on 24th October… Excited !!!!!” Interestingly, Ganesh’s son Vihan plays the younger version of Baalu in the film, so, hopefully, the teaser may give us a glimpse of the junior Golden Star as well.
Sakath is Ganesh’s second film with Suni, after their earlier collaboration, the 2017 romantic comedy, Chamak. The film is produced under the banners of KVN Productions and Suprith Productions and, if the buzz in Sandalwood circles is to be believed, the film is eyeing a mid-November release date. Sources in the know tell us that Ganesh and co have zeroed in November 12 as the possible release date, but there has been no official confirmation yet.
