Director Siva Nageswara Rao felicitates filmmaker Venkata Narayana for his film Cell

Cell, streaming on Youtube, featured Prabhakar, Sameer and Nanda Kishore in pivotal roles

Director Siva Nageswara Rao is a rare straightforward and forthright personality in the film industry who isn’t afraid to call a spade a spade and speaks with earnestness. He has been quite frank about his career, his choices and has always credited his counterparts, seniors in the industry across his interviews. The filmmaker, whose next release is the comic caper Dochevaarevarura, recently felicitated director Venkata Narayana for his film Cell.

Cell is a crime thriller that starred notable actors Sameer, Prabhakar and Nanda Kishore in lead roles. While the film went noticed at the time of its release, it received its due on Youtube. Siva Nageswara Rao too was one among those who watched it on the platform and liked the effort of the team. He took time out to spot the director of the film and honoured him in a recent meeting. The director shared a note about Cell earlier this week.

“I happened to watch Cell, a 2007 film directed by Venkata Narayana, on Youtube. I really liked it. I found out the number of the director and called him and honoured his effort at my office. It’s important to recognise talents from our industry and celebrate their work. Cell was a film that should have ideally released now. The film was way ahead of its time. I wish Venkata Narayana the very best for his upcoming film which is set to go on floors soon,” Siva Nageswara Rao wrote.

Siva Nageswara Rao’s next Dochevaarevarura stars Malavika Satheesan, Pranava Chandra, Bithiri Sathi and Ajay Ghosh in pivotal roles. He wrote a song in the film as well, Sulle Baku, sung by Mano and Sunaina. The filmmaker, known for films like Money, Mr and Mrs Sailaja Krishnamurthy, Sisindri, had last directed Over Action in 2016.
