The third part, Indian 3, is already in the making, with key scenes shot. Shankar mentioned that Indian 3 could be out within six months if VFX works out.
With just only a day left for the release of Indian 2, the much-anticipated sequel of the 1996 Tamil film Indian, director Shankar who is currently busy promoting the film across India, has revealed a crucial update about the third part.
For the unversed, the makers of Indian 2 have already revealed that the third part Indian 3, is already in the making with major portions already shot. Indian 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on July 12.
Headlined by Kamal Haasan, Indian 2 is helmed by director Shankar. Kamal Haasan will be reprising his role as Senapathy, a former freedom fighter who is setting out to weed out corruption from society.
In a recent press meet, Shankar was asked how long should audience wait for the Indian 3. "It is possible within six months if all goes well. If the VFX work is done, it is possible. In addition to this, I want to give another information. You can see the trailer of Indian 3 at the end of Indian 2 movie."
Indian 2 features a star ensemble, including actors Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore and Deepa Shankar, among others. It is backed by Lyca Productions.

In Indian, Kamal donned dual roles, Senapathy and his corrupted son Chandru. The film revolved around Senapathy’s conflict of interest after he finds out his son is indulged in bribery and corruption. However, he eventually decides to side with his philosophy and kills his son.
