VJ Sunny, Hrithika Srinivas and Sivannarayana essay crucial roles in Sound Party
Sound Party, headlined by VJ Sunny, Hrithika Srinivas and Sivannarayana, tests its fortunes in theatres tomorrow. Sanjay Sheri makes his directorial debut with the comic caper produced by Full Moon Media Productions. Ahead of its release, the filmmaker offers a peek into his evolution as a storyteller.
His origins
I hail from Kamareddy and have been a film buff since childhood. I adore Puri Jagannadh and he was my inspiration for entering the industry. I worked with Maruthi and Sampath Nandi as part of the writing team. I enjoy comedy entertainers as a viewer and so does my producer. Even though he had many stories before, he enjoyed Sound Party the most. I’d met him through director Jayashanakarr.
Sound Party: The premise
The film revolves around an innocent father and a son. VJ Sunny and Sivannarayana are apt choices for the roles. A few real-life incidents from my life prompted me to write the script. Despite Sound Party being my debut, all the actors were very cooperative throughout the shoot. I realised Hrithika Srinivas was Aamani’s niece only after we finalised her as the heroine. Sivannarayana’s role is as funny as his part in Amrutham.

What can we expect from the film?
Sound Party has clean humour without any double entendre or punchy dialogue. There is no forced emotion or melodrama in the climax and the humour is situational. What if we keep dreaming about something that doesn’t exist in the first place? The film was born out of that idea. I can’t forget Jayashankarr’s support in my directorial journey and the freedom my producers gave me.
Final word
We’re quite confident about the film and our team is assured about the outcome.I have a long-time desire to direct Siva Karthikeyan. I am one of his biggest fans. I tried to narrate a story to him through many channels but realised I was on the wrong path later. I hope to make a good film with him.
