More than a director and a producer, YVS Chowdary addresses himself as a fan of legendary actor NTR. The veteran was his key source of inspiration to enter the industry and it's quite evident how the former is an integral part of any title credits of a film involving YVS Chowdary. The filmmaker, who delivered hits like Lahiri Lahiri Lahiri Lo, Devadasu and Seethayya, in the past has now entered his silver jubilee year in Telugu cinema.
The director, who forayed into the industry with Sri Sita Ramula Kalyanam Chootamu Raarandi in 1998, shared his happiness through a social media post. "If my parents Yalamanchili Rathna Kumari and Narayana Rao are the reason behind my existence, I owe my existence in the industry to 'celluloid scientist' Nagarjuna Akkineni; I'm indebted to him. The film helped me work with the legendary ANR, actors Venkat and Chandini, lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, composer MM Keeravani, cinematographer Madhu A Naidu and writer Jandhyala," he said.
"Despite knowing that I was a big-time fan of NTR, Nagarjuna was so courteous and generous in giving me an opportunity. I must have done something very good in my previous birth to enjoy the patronage of their family. I conveyed my love to NTR in the film by using the song from Seetha Rama Kalyanam as the title. The film hit theatres on the same days as the iconic Devadasu. I consider the film a blessing of NTR and ANR," he added.
Interestingly, like NTR and ANR, YVS Chowdary hails from Gudivada. "I am a student of ANR college myself and I feel blessed about getting a chance to direct him in my very first film. Sri Sita Ramula Kalyanam Chootamu Raarandi completes 24 years and will enter its silver jubilee year today. I thank my friends, media, technicians, actors, producers and all well-wishers to help me come so far in the industry," Chowdary stated. His last release was the Sai Dharam Tej starrer Rey.
