Many months ago, Telugu/Tamil OTT platform aha’s founder, Allu Aravind, made a surprise announcement that director Prasanth Varma was penning a pathbreaking script keeping Nandamuri Balakrishna in mind. The star was particularly impressed with the young filmmaker after working with him on a promo for the second season of the digital talk show Unstoppable with NBK.

While the buzz surrounding their collaboration died down soon, one can’t rule out a possible film with the actor-director duo. HanuMan director Prasanth Varma himself confirmed the news at his film’s trailer launch today. “I am a big fan of Bhairava Dweepam and Aditya 369. There are so many genres he’s tried and we want to work on something that no one expects to see him in.”

He has reportedly even prepared a script for Balakrishna and has done his research using artificial intelligence, readying a few designs. “Balakrishna is one of the sweetest actors I've worked with (even more than Teja Sajja). When we unite, it’ll be for a genre he has not explored before.” However, going by the immediate schedules of Balakrishna and Prasanth Varma, it’ll take a while before it can materialise.

After HanuMan, Prasanth Varma is likely to begin work on Adhira, a film that’ll introduce RRR producer DVV Danayya’s son Kalyan Dasari as an actor. It is believed that the director wrapped up major portions of an undisclosed small-budget film (featuring newcomers) during the time he had between HanuMan’s post-production work.

Meanwhile, Balakrishna is currently working on NBK109, an action entertainer helmed by Bobby Kolli for Sithara Entertainments. Dulquer Salmaan, Bobby Deol, and Urvashi Rautela have reportedly come on board for the film. Balakrishna is also busy finalising the launch vehicle for his son, Nandamuri Mokshagna, and has several scripts in mind for the same.
