Writer, director Kishore Tirumala, whose career took off a strong note with Nenu Sailaja, followed it up with fun, quirky entertainers like Chitralahari, Unnadhi Okate Zindagi and the action thriller Red recently. His next release is the Sharwanand, Rashmika Mandanna starrer Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu, is set to hit theatres soon. Ahead of its release, the filmmaker engaged in a heartfelt conversation with the media in Hyderabad.

Clarifying rumours that the film isn't similar to the script he had pitched to Venkatesh initially, he says, "Both the stories are different and we planned to do a family entertainer with a different title. Though the hero's characterisation in both the films and the backdrop are similar, we have come with an entirely new story for Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu."

Talking of his inspiration behind writing a film about women, Kishore shares, "We give a lot of importance to the women in our households and they do everything to help us lead a better tomorrow. Their thoughts, hopes deserve a voice too and they have little desires that they want to fulfil. They may not have great demands from their men. I was inspired by many such women to make Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu. The family entertainer is an ode to womanhood."

He clears the air about Sharwanand's casting and says that he was the only choice for the lead role. "Sharwanand felt he was trying his hand at multiple genres and wanted to do a family entertainer. That's when I narrated this story and he took a liking to it instantly. I made a few changes to the script after he said yes and went on floors," he adds. The story revolves around a younger brother, who grows under five protective elder sisters and is pampered incessantly.

Opening up about the other casting decisions, the filmmaker stated that Rashmika had given her nod for the film immediately without any second thoughts. On the idea of bringing Khushbu, Radhika Sarathkumar and Urvashi together, "I write a film only when it has strong characters and all actors have equally prominent parts to play in Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu. I believe the actors in the film were very capable to represent the sensitive emotions in these characters."

Aadvallu Meeku Johaarlu talks of the importance of retaining family ties amidst the rush to make a good career as well. "We don't recognise the value of spending time with the women in our lives and our family in our busy lives. Women will find the theme of the film very relatable. For instance, it took me nearly six years to spend time with my daughter properly. The film will reinstate the significance of balancing work and family time," the director mentions.

The film has a 141-minute runtime and Kishore Tirumala had discussed the script with A Sreekar Prasad before going ahead with the shoot, which helped him avoid filming unnecessary sequences. Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu is the fourth time that the director is collaborating with Devi Sri Prasad. "I'm very fond of music and his work in particular. I can never write a script without listening to music. Devi's catchy music will further the story impressively."
