Jean Lal stated that Nadikar depicts the realities of what goes on behind the scenes of a movie, which is relevant to the times we live in.
Nadikar's director, Jean Lal, recently explained why viewers should not compare Nadikar to his previous films or other films such as Padmasree Bharat Dr Saroj Kumar, Varshangalkku Shesham, and Thallumalla. In an interview with Manorama Online, he said, "This movie depicts the realities of what goes on behind the scenes of a movie, which is relevant to the times we live in."
“People are not concerned with how emotionally invested we are in our films,” Jean added. He stated that while it is impossible to stop people from criticising a movie, as filmmakers, we must realise that repeatedly failing to make our films appealing to audiences will leave us with wounds that are difficult to heal.
The director made these statements while promoting his upcoming directorial, Nadikar, which will release in theatres on May 3. Tovino Thomas, Soubin Shahir, Balu Varghese, and Bhavana are playing lead roles in this big-budget entertainer.

Jean stated in a different interview with Silly Monks Malayalam that a star's roles and talent are typically what cause people to recognise and appreciate them. "The crew and technicians working on a film are concerned about their real attitude and personal lives, unlike the audience, which does not know anything about them," he stated.
The director thinks it is a cool idea to incorporate the world of cinema into a film. "I usually like working on ideas that excite me, and after my friend narrated this story, I was excited to work on it," he stated.

When Jean was developing David Padikkal (Tovino Thomas) he said that he took 90% inspiration from a variety of actors and people in the film industry. He stated, "This is what makes him more relatable to the audience," without mentioning that he based this character on any specific individual or behaviour pattern. The Manjummel Boys star continued by saying that David's close friends Balu Varghese and Suresh Krishna have a major connection with each other in this movie.
