Besides Singapore Saloon, Gokul had also made Junga for Ishari Ganesh’s banner
Director Gokul, who has helmed the recent released Tamil film Singapore Saloon starring RJ Balaji in the lead role, will be teaming up with the film's producer, Ishari Ganesh for another film. The announcement was made by the producer during the success meet event of Singapore Saloon held recently.
It is to be noted that the director has already helmed two films for the producer's banner, Vel Films International, namely Singapore Saloon and Junga (2018) which was co-produced by Vijay Sethupathi.
While the producer announce that he will team up once again for another film with director Gokul, he also added that the cast and crew details will be shared later. He also shared that the banner is intending to release six films this year. However, it is not known if the slate also includes Gokul’s film. “We started this year 2024 with the grand success of Singapore Saloon and we are sure we continue this trend throughout this year,” he added,

Further speaking about Singapore Saloon, Ishari Ganesh was in all praise of RJ Balaji for proving his acting. The producer also lauded actors Sathyaraj and Robo Shankar who played supporting characters but did the major heavy lifting for the film's comic relief. The producer also gifted a gold coin to the director as a token of gift.
Singapore Saloon follows the life an ambitious hair stylist who wants to make it big in the hair dressing industry. As he tries to set up an up-scale, posh salon, the rest of the film is about the hindrances that he encounters. The film also stars Kishen Das, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Lal, among others with Lokesh Kanagaraj and Arvind Swami making cameo appearances.

“Singapore Saloon is witty, crispy, but all over the place at the same time. Of course there is an undeniable effort, which gets diluted in the want to tick all the boxes of emotional quotient in its pursuit to be a family entertainer,” reads OTTplay review of Singapore Saloon.
