Written and directed by Dhanush, the first look poster of Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam - starring Priya Prakash Varrier and Mathew Thomas - was released yesterday
Actor-filmmaker Dhanush, who recently released the title poster of his third directorial venture Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, was seen posing for a picture with the cast members. In the picture, he stood next to Mathew Thomas, Priya Prakash Varrier, Anikha Surendran, Rabiya Khatoon, Pavish V, Ramya Ranganathan and Venkatesh Menon.
Touted to be a love story, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam is currently in post-production stage. The movie’s first-look poster and title were recently revealed by Dhanush, who has also written the story.
First look of Dhanush’s Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam hints at a coming-of-age romantic drama
Dhanush - who is working on another directorial project, titled D50 - took to social media to share the poster of his Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. The poster featured the members of the film’s cast, adorned in bright and flashy outfits. The first look promises a fun coming-of-age romantic drama. The movie bankrolled under Dhanush’s home banner - Wunderbar Films.
Interestingly, a few years ago producer-director Soundarya Rajinikanth had said in an interview with The Hindu, that she was working on a script, called Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. The interview clip, which is now resurfacing on social media, reveals that the project couldn’t take off then due to casting issues. “I was initially working on a script, called Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, and I had also put out a cast call for the film. It’s a very nice script and is written by Dhanush too. But for some reason, I could not find the cast for the film”, the VIP 2 director said.
Dhanush’s upcoming projects
Dhanush is also gearing up for the release of period action film Captain Miller, in which the actor will be seen playing the titular role. The film is set in the 1930s-40s and the plot follows an LTTE rebel, named Miller. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the cast also includes Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, Niveditha Sathish, John Kokken and Elango Kumaravel in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, D50 - his second directorial venture - is said to be a gangster film, set in North Chennai. The movie follows the lives of three brothers, played by actors Vishnu Vishal, SJ Suryah and Dhanush himself.
