Gadar 2 starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma is much awaited by the cinephiles. It is also noted as one of the most important theatrical releases this year as director Anil Sharma has come up with the second instalment after over two decades. In a recent press conference, the filmmaker shared his thoughts on how his film can impact the relations between India and Pakistan.
The 2001 film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, chronicles the story of Tara Singh and Sakina Ali, who fell in love with each other irrespective of their religion and country during the partition of India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, Gadar 2, is the continuation of the first film and takes place during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
In a recent press conference, Sharma celebrated the success of the latest reprising version of the iconic track Udd Jaa Kaale Kaawa with singer Udit Narayan and others. When asked to share his thoughts on the impact that the upcoming film could create between the two neighbouring countries, the director of Gadar 2 mentioned that his film is only talking about love.
"Films are made, so that relationships can become stronger. Last time, In the first part of Gadar we said the same thing that the whole world functions due to love. There is nothing without love. What else we can say apart from this? We can only speak what's in our hearts through our films. In the upcoming movie, we have said the same thing. And a lot of people do listen to us including the people of India and Pakistan. Although, I cannot speak about the political angles and backgrounds." he shared.
The makers released the official teaser of the upcoming romantic-action drama film and garnered immense praise from the cinephiles.
The upcoming sequel to the hit 2001 film is bankrolled by Zee Studios, Anil Sharma Productions and MM Moviez.
Gadar 2, which also has Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra and Luv Sinha along with Simrat Kaur in her Bollywood debut, releases in theatres on August 11.
