Diljit, Parineeti and Imtiaz on The Great Indian Kapil Show
The makers released the promo of the third episode on their Instagram handle and captioned it with, “Ab hoga music, comedy aur masti ka blast jab aayenge Chamkila ke star cast. Dekho #TheGreatIndianKapilShow Saturday 8 pm sirf Netflix par (Witness the blend of comedy, fun and entertainment when the cast of Amar Sigh Chamkila comes on board The Great Indian Kapil Show).” The film’s lead actors Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra along with Imtiaz Ali entered the stage of The Great Indian Kapil Show amid loud applause from the audience.
Kapil's first joke was aimed at Parineeti as he said, “Ye Raghav rajneeti karte karte Parineeti Parineeti kab karne lag gaye (When did Raghav start following Parineeti instead of politics)”
For the unversed, Parineeti Chopra tied the knot with Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha in 2023.
The next clip gives us a peek into Diljit’s performance as he sang one of Chamkila’s Punjabi songs, while Parineeti grooved to the music, after which Imtiaz Ali says, “Sham ko Punjabi log mood mein aa jate hai (Punjabi people usually get in the mood of partying as soon as the sun goes down).”
Overall, the popular actors and the noted director seem to have had the time of their lives on the sets of the comedy show.
Sunil Grover’s quirky singing performance
The promo video also showcased a short clip of Sunil Grover’s funny performance wherein he was clad in a multicoloured saree, along with two long braids. The comedian sang a song, the lyrics of which said, “6 baje nahi, 7 baje nahi, 8 baje duty shuru hoti hai (Not at 6, not at 7, the duty starts at 8 o’clock)” which seemed to tickle the funny bone of the audience.
The fun promo quickly caught the attention of the fans, who filled the comment section with red heart emojis.
Featuring comedians Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda, The Great Indian Kapil Show premiered on Netflix on March 30. While the first episode featured Ranbir Kapoor, along with his mother Neetu Kapoor and sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, the second episode featured Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer.
