The movie, which is directed by Nadirshah, also has Urvashi as part of the cast
Dileep’s upcoming movie Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan presents a lot of firsts for the actor. The movie, which marks his first collaboration with filmmaker and best friend Nadirshah, will also be his OTT debut and has him dubbing for Tamil for the first time in his three-decade-old career.
In a recent interview during the promotion of the film, the actor said that the film will be released in several languages apart from Malayalam on Disney+ Hotstar. These include Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Dileep also said that he has dubbed for the first time in Tamil for the movie, which also has its lead actress Urvashi dubbing in Tamil and Telugu.
The entertainer has Dileep playing the role of a driving instructor named Kesu, who is 60-plus years old. The movie revolves around Kesu, who has his own set of inferiority complexes, and his family as and how a lottery ticket turns their lives topsy turvy.
Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan, which is scripted by Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum scriptwriter Sajeev Pazhoor, also has Anusree, Swasika, Vaishnavi, Naslen, Kottayam Nazir and Kalabhavan Shajohn in pivotal roles.
The film is set to drop on Disney+ Hotstar on December 31 and marks Dileep’s first release in over two years. The actor had completed shooting for the movie earlier this year. This is also the first time that he is teaming up with Urvashi.
Despite the two pandemic lockdowns, Nadirshah had wanted the movie to be a theatrical release as it had all the elements that made for a family entertainer. However, the recent Omicron threat and the government yet to remove the 50% occupancy limit in Kerala theatres forced the makers to opt for an OTT release.
Incidentally, Nadirshah’s next directorial Eesho, which has Jayasurya in the lead, is also reported to be an OTT release. The film is a thriller, scripted by Suneesh Varanad.
