Dil Raju on #Thalapathy66: Vijay sir has told us it's his best script in over 20 years

The film's shoot is expected to commence in March and will either release for Diwali 2022 or Sankranthi 2023

Dil Raju is one of the most happening producers in the Telugu land, who's gradually cementing his authority in Hindi cinema as well. The filmmaker has projects with every notable star in the industry in the offing, from Vijay Deverakonda to Ram Charan to Naga Chaitanya, to name a few. He'll be foraying into the Tamil industry with actor Vijay's next, to be helmed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film is tentatively titled Thalapathy66.

#Thalapathy66 is expected to be shot in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously and is actor Vijay's next project after Beast. Audiences and fans have been waiting for updates about the much-anticipated film with bated breath over the last few months. In an interview with TV5, producer Dil Raju spilled the beans about the high-profile project.

"The film we're doing with Vijay, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, is a beautiful story. Right when I heard the script, I felt it could be one of the best films to come out of our banner and also in the career of Vamshi. Vijay has told me that it's the best script he's heard in over 20 years. It's great to receive such a compliment from a top star like him," he told the interviewer.

"The work on the film is progressing at a brisk pace, Vamshi is doing a very good job of it. We're planning to commence the shoot from March. Depending upon the COVID-19 scenario, it will either release for Diwali 2022 or Sankranthi 2023. Our banner's project with Shankar is also expected to complete at the same time. We'll take a call on the release as per the situation then," Dil Raju, who last produced Rowdy Boys, added.
