Filmmaker Rohit Shetty unveiled the eagerly awaited trailer for Indian Police Force a few days ago. The show builds suspense, while showcasing the police in all their glory. The police personas of Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, and Vivek Oberoi have greatly impressed the public. With excitement building up for the series, Shilpa Shetty has revealed that she replaced Suniel Shetty in the Indian Police Force.
In an interview with ETimes, Shilpa revealed the male actor whom she had replaced in the series. Shilpa remarked, "When I asked him (Rohit Shetty), he said 'if not this Shetty then other Shetty'". The director was presumably referring to Suniel Shetty.
Teasingly mentioning their respective character names from the smash blockbuster movie Dhadkan, Shilpa told the portal, "So suddenly from Anjali (Shilpa) it would have been Dev (Suniel)." The Nikamma actress also said that she believes that Rohit must have had a purpose for changing the character's gender. However, there was no gender bias in the way he addressed the character, she added.
Earlier, filmmaker Rohit Shetty also revealed that Shilpa's Lady Cop role was intended for a hero, who is well-known for his hero-centric cop dramas. "This character was earlier for a hero," he revealed. However, at the eleventh hour, while she was filming Sukhee in Chandigarh, the director gave her a call. "Then she was doing India’s Got Talent and she shuttled between all and made it happen. I knew she would be able to do it. She even broke her leg during an action scene," he said.
Shilpa Shetty as Police Officer
The cop-verse trailer offers a glimpse into Shilpa Shetty's portrayal of a police officer. Fans are ecstatic that Shilpa has been revealed as the Indian Police Force's "Shero." There's a tangible sense of excitement about the series, as viewers can't wait to see how Shilpa brings her distinct style to the police drama as she is also the first female cop in Rohit Shetty's cop universe.

Indian Police Force, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, and Vivek Oberoi, is expected to bring a formidable new character to the world of Shetty, the maestro of police dramas. The show will be available on Amazon Prime Video from January 19, 2024.
