Shamshera, directed by Karan Malhotra, features Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Vaani Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla and Ashutosh Rana
Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt are busy promoting their forthcoming flick Shamshera. Both the actors share a strong bond with each other. Moreover, Ranbir had earlier portrayed Sanjay Dutt’s role in the Rajkumar Hirani-directed biopic Sanju.
During a recent media interaction, Ranbir opened up on how he always had Sanjay’s support and recollected the senior actor teasing him for doing Barfi. According to ETimes, both Sanjay and Ranbir used to get trained at the same gym when the latter was shooting for Barfi and Rockstar.

Sanjay used to make fun of Ranbir by telling him that he had been exercising for two years without any results. Ranbir further revealed how the Agneepath actor used to make sarcastic comments at him for signing Barfi. In fact, Sanjay would say that Ranbir’s next films will be titled “Peda” or “Laddu”.
Ranbir added that Sanjay has always been a father figure to him. He remembered that he always had the veteran’s back and was proud of his accomplishment. Ranbir further stated that Sanjay has encouraged him to make films that appeal to a wider audience.
Shamshera is the first venture in which Ranbir and Sanjay will share screen space. The film, directed by Karan Malhotra, also stars Vaani Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla, and several others. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra's production company Yash Raj Films, and this is the first time Ranbir portrays a dual role. The film will be released in theatres on July 22.
His massive project Brahmstra directed by Ayan Mukherji and featuring his wife Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna, is also on the verge of completion. The actor's also working on Animal alongside Rashmika Mandanna. Besides, he has wrapped up filming for Luv Ranjan's untitled film, which stars Shraddha Kapoor, too.
