Did you fall for the prank too? Koffee with Karan Season 7 will be coming directly to OTT and not TV this time!
Koffee with Karan Season 7 is very much on!

Disney+ Hotstar definitely knows how to pack a punch with their announcements. Just like how they pulled off something as wacky as SRK+, using Shah Rukh Khan to promote the OTT platform through a series of prank-ads, they have done something similar with Koffee with Karan today. Speculations were rife that the Karan Johar-hosted chat show was to return for the seventh season in the recent weeks. Earlier in the day, Karan Johar denied all the rumours, stating that the show wouldn't be back for a new season.

The director-producer tweeted with a 'heavy heart' that his 'show wouldn't be returning...', adding he's content with the impact it has made on pop-culture. However, there's a terrific twist akin to a Abbas-Mustan film. Pulling off another prank on netizens, Disney+ Hotstar said that Karan Johar's show wouldn't be returning on TV, but will stream exclusively on the OTT platform, bringing together the biggest movie across the country on the couch and getting them to discuss juicy gossip from their lives.

Koffee with Karan Season 7 will have several games and a few rumours are expected to be put to rest, the platform said. The conversations in the show will also revolve around love, loss and all that the industry has experienced in recent years. The wordplay was equally smart with the Disney+ Hotstar announcement claiming that Koffee With Karan will 'steam' soon on the platform.

A special episode of Koffee with Karan was also aired to promote Sara Ali Khan-Dhanush starrer Atrangi Re last year. On the work front, Karan Johar, the producer has a busy year lined up ahead with major releases like Brahmastra, Liger, Yodha, Govinda Naam Mera, while he simultaneously has to finish filming his directorial Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan.
