Amitabh Bachchan spoke about it during a recent episode of KBC 15
Remember the loveable Tuffy from Hum Aapke Hain Koun. The Indian Spitz doggo played a very important role in bringing the leads in the film, Nisha and Prem, played by Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan, together. Now, it looks like Madhuri was so in love with the furry baby that she decided to adopt him. Amitabh Bachchan made the big revelation recently.
Who was Tuffy from Hum Aapke Hain Koun
Tuffy is the character name of the Indian Spitz doggo in Hum Aapke Hain Koun. The furry friend’s name originally was Redo. The little baby was introduced to the film through an assistant director. However, after working with Redo/Tuffy in Sooraj Barjatya’s film, Madhuri decided to adopt the baby boy. This was around 1993-1994. Unfortunately, Redo passed away 23 years back, in 2000.
Amitabh Bachchan’s revelation
During a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, Amitabh Bachchan revealed that Madhuri adopted Tuffy after the release of Hum Aapke Hain Koun. This is proven by videos on the internet, where Tuffy sits on Madhuri’s lap while she does makeup. The video sees her looking in the mirror and applying lipstick, while Tuffy sits there like a good boy.
How did Tuffy play an important role in the film
Tuffy is the reason Nisha and Prem end up getting married with the consent of the family. In the movie, Nisha tries to sacrifice her love for Prem by the thought of marrying Prem’s elder brother, Rajesh (played by Mohnish Bahl). This is even when Rajesh’s now deceased wife Pooja (Renuka Shahane) promised to get Nisha and Prem married. She spilled the secrets in a letter and asked Tuffy to deliver the letter to Prem. Tuffy, instead, passes on the letter to Rajesh, who confronts them. That is when Nisha and Prem end up getting married.
