Priyadarshi, Kavya Kalyanram played the lead roles in the film directed by Venu Yeldandi
Behind the many popular faces one notices on the big screen, there are many unsung heroes in the industry who don’t get due credit for their contributions owing to miscellaneous factors. Producers are conventionally known to place their faith in known ‘brands’ than giving due credit for someone’s contribution. Hence, it’s indeed a big deal for any newcomer or industry aspirant to find their name mentioned in the credits.
Something similar is believed to have been the case with comedian Venu Yeldandi’s directorial debut Balagam as well. The Priyadarshi, Kavya Kalyanram starrer has been in the news for the right reasons, opening to glowing reviews from critics in the premieres and has started on a positive note at the box office. Beyond the performances and the director, film buffs were in awe of its stirring background score.
Bheems Ceciroleo has been credited as the film’s composer (both the songs and the background score). However, a reliable source, close to the team, on the condition of anonymity, confirms, “It was indeed Suresh Bobbili who worked on the background score and not Bheems, as proclaimed. The team hasn’t credited him, despite his stellar efforts.”
This is certainly a shocking development, given the fact that Suresh Bobbili is a known name among film circles and has been consistently churning out good work, receiving praise for films like Virata Parvam, Needi Naadi Oke Katha and George Reddy, to name a few. With someone as credible and experienced as Dil Raju associated with the project, one would’ve expected the team to be more professional in crediting a known name for their work.
Sudhakar Reddy, Muralidhar Goud, Roopa, Racha Ravi, Vijayalakshmi and others played important roles as well in the film, which had cinematography by Acharya Venu and was edited by Madhu. The film was presented by Shirish and produced by Harshith Reddy and Hanshitha Reddy.
