Did Arijit Singh opt for Pasoori remake to support a charity? Ali Sethi indirectly responds to the news

Did Arijit Singh just confess he did Pasoori remake to support a charity?

Recently, Bollywood actors Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani featured in a song titled – Pasoori – which is believed to be the remake of 2022 Pakistani song of the same name. While the latest song is sung by popular singer Indian Arijit Singh, the original song is sung by talented music composers Ali Sethi and Shae Gill.

Since this development, several social media users have drawn comparisons between the original song and the latest track, many of whom are blaming Bollywood for having a lack of original content.

The original song, by Sethi and Gill, was released last year and has over 597 million views on YouTube. The latest track from the movie Satyaprem Ki Katha however, has only managed to receive 10 million views in a single day.

In the middle of this news, a fresh development has come in. Apparently, Arijit took on the song so he could support a charity. A bunch of tweets and screenshots, from Arijit's unverified Twitter account, are going viral on social media. In it, he said that he struck a deal with producers to support a noble cause. “The maker has promised me a yearly fund for a school for the underprivileged. That's more important. Thode gaali kha lenge (I'm fine with a few criticisms),” Singh said to a fan on Twitter. However, the thread of the chat is now deleted, and screenshots of the said chat are now viral on social media.

In response to this, Ali Sethi has done an Instagram Live Session in which he tried to sing Bajirao Mastani’s popular song – Aayat – and later confessed he cannot sing it with the same beauty as Singh did in his original song. This comment by Sethi comes at a time when Bollywood is being bashed for its lack of original content.

Meanwhile, Satyaprem Ki Katha is all set to hit the theatres on June 29 this week.
