Dhyan’s next script Prakashan Parakkatte is gearing up for a theatrical release on June 17
Much like his father Sreenivasan and elder brother Vineeth, Dhyan too isn’t just focusing on acting and directing, but also scripting. Dhyan, who had previously written the scripts for Goodalochana and Love Action Drama, is now also writing for cinematographer and producer Jomon T John’s upcoming project.
The actor-director revealed this during an interview recently, ahead of the release of Prakashan Parakkate, which he has also scripted. Dhyan said that upcoming film will be made on a bigger scale compared to his previous projects. The actor-scriptwriter, however, didn’t reveal whether this movie would mark Jomon’s directorial debut or if it’s another film backed by the Cirkus and Charlie cinematographer’s production company Plan J Films.
During the pandemic, Dhyan had completed two scripts – Prakashan Parakkatte and Aap Kaise Ho. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, he said that every scene in Shahad Nilambur’s Prakashan Parakkatte is written as a conversation between two people. “The aim is to show the one-to-one bonding between the characters of the father, mother and son, and this was the approach I had adopted,” he said.
The film, which has Mathew Thomas and Dileesh Pothan in the lead, is about a 17-year-old teenager who dreams of starting over at a new place. Prakashan Parakkatte, which also has Aju Varghese, Saiju Kurup and Nisha Sarang, will hit theatres on June 17.
Meanwhile, Dhyan is also scripting an action-thriller titled 9MM, which has Manju Warrier, Sunny Wayne and Dileesh Pothan as part of the cast. The Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, which is set in Coimbatore and Chennai, again is a big project that was delayed due to the pandemic. Dhyan told us that the plan right now is begin shooting the film, which also features actors from the Tamil film industry, by the end of this year after Manju completes his prior commitments, which also includes Ajith’s AK 61.
