Dhruva Sarja: Sitting at a computer and typing away does not amount to fan war
Talking about online sledging by fan groups, Dhruva says that if the comments attack an actor’s near-and-dear ones, it will be opposed and he won’t stop his fans from coming to his defense

It is no secret that there is animosity between Kannada actors Dhruva Sarja and Darshan Thoogudeepa, which their respective fan groups also carry forward. Dhruva recently addressed this, even though he did not mention any particular fan group, stating that if his family is dragged into the comments section and unsavoury language is used, he will not ask his fans to refrain from retaliating. In fact, there will be a strong response.
Dhruva was talking to Kannada Pichhar during his Martin promotion, when the subject of fan wars came up. The Action Prince took objection to the term fan war. “Personally, I think war denotes actual physical fighting. Sitting in front of a computer and typing away offensive comments while hiding under the anonymity that the internet offers is not a fan war. That is a digital war, at best. Let’s say, I put up a video or some content on social media, and the comment that comes is an attack against my family, and someone reacts to it to defend them, who is at fault here? The guy who made the first comment or the one who reacted to it? I will not stop the one who reacted,” says Dhruva.
The actor adds that he is fine if the derogatory comments are, say, about his looks, acting or films. “Just don’t drag family into this. That’s a line that should not be crossed, but if one party does it, there will be an equal and opposite reaction. If you hit me, I will hit you back; it is as simple as that. I will not remain quiet if my family is under attack,” Dhruva reiterates.

Martin, meanwhile, is the Kannada film release for Dasara. The film has Dhruva as Arjun Saxena, an Indian soldier, fighting for the motherland, while also on a journey to figure out his identity. The film, directed by Addhuri maker AP Arjun, also stars Vaibhavi Shandilya, Anveshi Jain and Nikitin Dheer, among others, is in a direct clash with Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan.
