Vikram, who has been garnering huge response for his performance in Ponniyin Selvan 2, is looking forward to Thangalaan which is expected to be released later this year. Pa Ranjith, who is helming the project, opened up recently on the preparations the actor underwent to play the lead character in the period flick.

We had told you a couple of times recently about makers of the star's long-pending movie Dhruva Natchathiram trying to release it soon after completing its pending portions and post production. It was initially heard that they were eyeing a release date in the last week of May.
However, there wasn't any news pertaining to it further. Now, another possible date is doing the rounds on social media and a few trusted sources have confirmed the same. According to the grapevine, the team is busy ensuring that the action drama hits screens on July 14.
There have been reports of the project being released in two parts and that it will be dubbed into Telugu and Hindi as well. An official announcement is what many cinephiles are awaiting now. Directed by Gautham Menon, the movie stars Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, Radhika Sarathkumar, Parthiban and Dhivyadharshini among others.
The film revolves around John, a US-based spy who is smart enough to handle his enemies in an unusual manner. How he lands a complicated assignment and takes on a few deadly criminals forms the crux of its plot. Manoj Paramahamsa has cranked the camera while Harris Jayaraj has composed music.
Praveen Antony and Rajeevan have handled editing and art direction respectively for the project, the teaser of which was unveiled more than six years ago.
