The Malayalam film is slated to release in theatres on June 23
If you’ve seen Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil in action in any of his films, it would be difficult to imagine that he could do anything wrong, as far as the making of the movies go. As effortless as he makes it seem slipping into each character, turns out, Fahadh, like most of us, is also prone to the occasional error. Director Pawan Kumar, who worked with Fahadh on his film Dhoomam, which is releasing in theatres on June 23, shared what can only be thought of as impossible – footage of the actor getting a shot wrong.
Check it out here:
Dhoomam is Pawan’s first Malayalam film, although it was initially conceived as a Kannada film. Produced by Hombale Films, it will be released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi as well. In earlier interactions with the media, Pawan had spoken about why he was not able to make Dhoomam as a Kannada film, as planned. In fact, the film was meant to be called C10H14N2 (the chemical formula of nicotine), but according to Pawan, he could either not convince an actor to be in a film about smoking, or, if an actor was okay, he could not get a producer. Pawan, who was set to work with Hombale Films on a project with Puneeth Rajkumar, then got to pitch C10H14N2 to Fahadh and that is how Dhoomam came to be.

The trailer of the film, which came out a couple of days ago, shows that Dhoomam has all the trappings of an intriguing thriller. However, it gave no clear picture of the plot, with visuals of Fahadh pitching an idea of an ‘interesting’ no-smoking ad that plays in theatres, which then cuts to a kidnapping, ransom, and more, with the underlying theme being, ‘get rich’.
Dhoomam also stars Roshan Mathew, Aparna Balamurali, Achyuth Kumar, and Vineeth, among others.
