Dhoomam title track out now

The buzz around the release of Dhoomam is slowly but surely getting louder as audiences keenly look forward to the collaboration between Fahadh Faasil and Pawan Kumar. With the latter, along with Hombale Films, making his debut in Malayalam, one grows curious to know how he handles an actor Fahadh's stature and whether, or not, he is able to prioritize the film's material over all the other factors.

Dhoomam is scheduled to release in theatres on June 23 with the original Malayalam version and Kannada dubbed version arriving first. The makers, while speaking to OTTplay, revealed that the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions will release the following week, on June 29.

With Fahadh Faasil and a majority of the ensemble cast boasting popularity in Kerala and both Pawan Kumar and Hombale Films being 'brands' in their own respective rights, the makers are ensuring that each region is catered to respectively. Hombale Films co-founder Chaluve Gowda, in the same conversation with OTTplay's Prathibha Joy, shared that the team is ensuring a wide release for Dhoomam (Kannada) in Karnataka.

That said, it is likely that the Malayalam version will be prioritized over Kannada and the advance bookings of Dhoomam, which are now open, reflect the same. The list of theatres/screens dedicated to the film is yet to be fully updated on ticket aggregator sites but one can expect the distributors to follow a region-specific strategy. Karthik Gowda of KRG Studios offers a much clearer picture of the same by Thursday, June 22.
