The Nani, Keerthy Suresh starrer, directed by Srikanth Odela, is slated to release in 2023
Nani is also foraying into the Pushpa-territory with the rustic actioner Dasara that’ll release in all South Indian languages and Hindi on March 30, 2023. The film marks the directorial debut of Srikanth Odela and is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas. Its first single, Dhoom Dhaam Dhosthaan, was launched today commemorating the Dasara season.
While Nani had bombastically introduced Dhoom Dhaam Dhosthaan as the massiest, local street song ever the previous weekend, we must say the number lives up to the hype. Santhosh Narayanan scores the music for the film. Dhoom Dhaam Dhosthaan, lyricised by Kasarla Shyam, is sung by Rahul Sipligunj, Palamuru Jangireddy, Narsamma, Gotte Kanakavva and Gannora Dasa Laxmi.
The song is all about a bunch of coal mine workers having a jolly, good time after a hard day at work, as they dance like there’s no tomorrow enjoying local liquor at a bar. Apart from the catchy musical hook, the number’s major highlight is its orchestration, use of native percussion instruments. Dhaam Dhosthaan captures the daily realities of the Singareni labourers, offering a glimpse into their culture.
There are references to a few popular folk numbers within the dance number and they lend a distinct touch to the mood. There’s vigour, there’s joy and there’s madness - Dhoom Dhaam Dhosthaan has everything in it to strike a chord with a music buff and Santhosh Narayanan fans. Prem Rakshith has choreographed the dance number.
Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead in the actioner that also stars Sai Kumar, Samuthirakani among others. Navin Nooli is the editor of the film which has production design by Avinash Kolla. Vijay Chaganti is the executive producer and Sathyan Sooryan ISC, who last worked on Ramarao on Duty, is the cinematographer. The action sequences are designed by Anbariv.
