Kookie Gulati’s crime thriller Dhokha: Round D Corner will hit the theatre on September 23. Before the release, the film team, including R Madhavan, Aparshakti Khurana, Khushalii Kumar, and Darshan Kumaar, along with the director, paid a visit to Kolkata for promotion. The event took place at a city hotel where the actors tried playing the Dhaak – the quintessential beat instrument that welcomes Ma Durga.
Aparshakti stole the show as he stepped in a cream Kurta Pyjama – an attire that brings Puja vibes. Later, while talking to the media, he said, “This is perhaps my seventh or eighth time in Kolkata. I am well aware of the city’s delicacies – including Chelo kebab in Peter Cat. I have a specific dress code for every city. I chose to wear a kurta today because of the upcoming Puja celebrations.”
Aparshakti is known for his comedy timing. Will a thriller like Dhoka change the perception? He said that it doesn’t really matter. I have never planned in my life. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I respect my work. If I start thinking how I could change people’s perception, I will dishonour my craft,” he said.
The team was greeted by excited fans. The stars of the movie danced to the tune of Dhaak and rejoiced in the Pujo vibes of Bengal. Besides, two songs – Tu Banke Hawa and Mera Dil Gaye Jaa – were played at the do. Khushalii Kumar and Darshan shook a leg with the fans in the city. The team later gorged on Bengali food.
