National award-winning director, Seenu Ramasamy will not be associated to the sequel to the critically acclaimed film
Ace director Seenu Ramasamy earlier took to social media to clear the air on rumours talking about him directing the sequel to Vijay Sethupathi’s Dharmadurai. According to his post, he will not be associated with any of the works related to its sequel.
Seenu Ramasamy’s social media message came shortly after the announcement put out by actor-producer RK Suresh. He earlier bankrolled the Vijay Sethupathi and Tamannaah starrer, Dharmadurai which came out in 2016. His message read “Dharmadurai 2 update coming soon. Studio 9 presents.” Following this, the director took to social media to clear the air on the rumours that suggested him directing the sequel. He clarified that he is not related to the works of Dharmadurai 2. He also shared the news of his upcoming movie’s update, which will come soon.
There has been no confirmation of whether the Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi and the Baahubali star Tamannaah will star in the upcoming sequel. Additional details of the team of Dharmadurai 2 were also not divulged by RK Suresh. Meanwhile, the actor-producer will be seen in the upcoming Malayalam remake of Joseph, titled Vichithiran. The upcoming remake is produced by the ace director Bala of ‘Naan Kadavul’ and ‘Pithamagan’ fame among others.

Talking about Seenu Ramasamy, he recently wrapped up the filming of the upcoming GV Prakash starrer, Idimuzhakkam. His long pending ventures starring Vijay Sethupathi, Idam Porul Yaeval and Maamanithan are yet to see the light of day. The former Vijay Sethupathi starrer also features Vishnu Vishal, Aishwarya Rajesh and Nandita in pivotal roles. The director was known to have launched the Makkal Selvan in the Tamil film industry with the release of the National award winning film, Thenmerku Paruvakaatru.
