Only days ago, director Hari Santhosh, of Alemaari and Bicchugatti fame, had announced that his next film, the Dhanveerrah and Sreeleela starrer Bytwo Love would release in theatres on February 25. The film was set for a three-way fight at the box office with Prem’s Ek Love Ya and MG Srinivas’ Old Monk. The buzz in the industry was that Hari Santhosh would push his film ahead, given that all three films are love stories, but, as it turns out, the filmmaker has, instead, chosen to advance his Bytwo Love by a week.

The film is now slated to release on February 18, a day on which three other films – Gilky, Bhavachitra and Varada - are already confirmed. Talking to us about why he chose to advance his film by a week, Hari tells us, “I have worked with Prem as an associate for several years, so, when my guru’s film releases, it is not right on my part to be in competition with him. We discussed the matter and decided that my film should come out a week earlier.”

But what about the fact that it is now a four-way fight at the box office? “Bytwo Love is a conceptually different film that I am very confident about. The response to the songs and the fresh pairing of Dhanveerrah and Sreeleela has been very encouraging, so we, as a team, are quite confident about the prospect of the film. Also, the other films releasing on February 18 are all in different genres and will have their set of audiences,” he adds. Produced by KVN Productions, this B Ajaneesh Loknath musical will have as many as six songs, which is also a major highlight, says Hari, adding that the film also has Achyuth Kumar and Pavitra Lokesh on its cast.
