The Selvaraghavan directorial stars Dhanush alongside Elli AvrRam, Indhuja in lead roles and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja,
Dhanush's Telugu market is gradually expanding with every film since VIP. With his recent romantic entertainer Thiruchitrambalam emerging a success in the Telugu version Thiru too, there's no doubt that the actor is striking a chord with the audiences in the heartland of Telugu states. His next major release here is Nene Vasthunna, the dubbed version of Naane Varuvaen, directed by the actor's brother and Aaduvaari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule filmmaker Selvaraghavan.
Earlier today, the makers of Nene Vasthunna have announced that the film will release on September 29, the same day as the Tamil version. The next weekend isn't only going to be a highly anticipated box-office clash in Tamil Nadu but also in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While there's no doubt about the credentials of team Ponniyin Selvan and their reach in multiple markets, one can't underestimate the potential of Dhanush's film in the Telugu version, more so after the terrific teaser.
For the unversed, Nene Vasthunna is a psychological thriller featuring Dhanush in a double role while Elli AvrRam and Indhuja play the female leads. Veteran producer Allu Aravind has acquired the Telugu rights and is leaving no stone unturned to release it on a massive scale. The fact that the film brings together names like Dhanush, Selvaraghavan and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja is a good reason to be excited about it. The first single from the film, Veeraa Soora, was launched today.
Kalaippuli S Thanu, who has bankrolled many successful films of Dhanush in the past including Karnan and Asuran under V Creations, is the producer of the film. Dhanush and Selvaraghavan had earlier collaborated for films like Mayakkam Enna, Kaadhal Kondein and Thulluvadho Ilamai. The filmmaker, whose last directorial release was Nenjam Marappathillai, will also act in a key role in Nene Vasthunna. Yogi Babu and Prabhu are cast in important characters as well.
