Earlier on Thursday, Sun Pictures announced the shoot commencement of Dhanush's forthcoming film titled D44. Now, the film has got its title and D44 is Thiruchitrambalam. The film is directed by Mithran Jawahar and is set to be an Anirudh Ravichander musical. The star cast of the film also includes Prakash Raj, Nithya Menen, Raashii Khanna among others.
Sun Pictures tweeted the photos from the first day of the shoot featuring the whole team of Thiruchitrambalam and captioned it as "@dhanushkraja's #D44 shooting commences Today! #D44Poojai @anirudhofficial #MithranRJawahar @prakashraaj #Bharathiraja @MenenNithya @RaashiiKhanna_ @priya_Bshankar @RIAZtheboss."

Dhanush had two releases this year - Karnan directed by Mari Selvaraj. The film was released in theatres for a short period of time and discontinued due to the second wave of COVID-19. The film also stars Lal, Yogi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam and Rajisha Vijayan in pivotal roles.
His next was Netflix original film Jagame Thandhiram directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film also features James Cosmo, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George and Kalaiyarasan.
His upcoming film is the Bollywood flick Atrangi Re directed by Aanand L Rai. The movie also features Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles and the music is composed by AR Rahman.
Dhanush is also a part of the Russo Brothers' The Gray Man which is based on the novel of the same name. The film stars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans in the lead roles and is touted to be the most expensive film on Netflix.
