Dhanush trains in archery after joining the shooting of Selvaraghavan's Naane Varuven in Ooty

The actor-filmmaker duo is joining hands for a project after more than a decade's hiatus

The shooting of Selvaraghavan's Naane Varuven, which was announced last year, kicked off in Ooty recently. The director had released an unofficial poster, too, from the film featuring Dhanush in two appearances. The actor-singer is playing dual roles for the second time in it after Kodi (streaming on MX Player) which released in 2016.

Kalaippuli S Thanu, who is producing the movie, took to Twitter the other day to post a picture of Dhanush and Selvaraghavan, and said that the film will hit the screens soon. The senior producer had bankrolled the actor's acclaimed movies Asuran (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) and Karnan (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) in the recent times.

It is now heard that Dhanush is getting trained in archery under a popular Chennai-based trainer as one of the characters he plays in it requires him to master the skill. Indhuja essays the female lead in the movie which marks the reunion of Dhanush and Selva after Mayakkam Enna (streaming on Jio Cinema and MX Player).

Earlier, there was news about a change in title for the project, but the makers later decided to retain Naane Varuven as the film's title. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to compose music for the film.

Dhilip Subbarayan has come on board to choreograph action sequences for the movie which has cinematography by Om Prakash. Though Dhanush and Selva had announced teaming up for the sequel to Aayirathil Oruvan (streaming on Jio Cinema) earlier, looks like the project has been shelved.

Meanwhile, Dhanush's Maaran directed by Karthick Naren, is set for a direct OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar soon. The makers had planned for a February release, but there hasn't been any update on its release yet.
