Dhanush has reportedly received a ‘Red Card’ from the Tamil Film Producers’ Council, over a complaint raised by the renowned producer banner Sri Thenandal Films.
Dhanush, the multi-faceted talent is currently on a high with the massive success of his 50th film, Raayan. The movie, written and directed by the National Award-winner himself is currently on its way to emerge as the all-time highest-grossing film in his career. However, all is not well in the Raayan actor’s career, as he has now received a ‘Red Card’ from the Tamil Film Producers’ Council. The association took action against Dhanush, upon a complaint raised by renowned producer banner Sri Thenandal Films.
According to the complaint raised by Sri Thenandal Films in 2023, Dhanush abandoned a project produced by the banner after receiving the advance amount. As per the reports, despite committing to the project, the National Award-winning actor never turned up for the shoot. However, the recent reports by News18 suggest that not just Sri Thenandal Films, but from many producers, after which he abandoned those projects without explanation. The Tamil Film Producers Council, which called out the actor for the same at a recent meeting, issued a ‘Red Card’ for the actor.

For the uninitiated, Dhanush or any others cannot start working on new projects without the approval of TFPC, after the actor received a Red Card. The producers, who raised complaints against the actor, also requested the other film producers to consult the Tamil Film Producers Association before starting work on new films featuring him. The decision was made after the TFPC officer bearers meeting, which called out the actors and technicians who had abandoned projects after receiving advance amounts.

The actor-director's latest outing Raayan is now receiving immense love from both the audiences and critics. Dhanush will be next seen in Kubera, the highly anticipated Shekhar Kammula directorial which is touted to be a period drama. The actor is sharing the screen with Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna in the movie, which is expected to be released in 2025. After wrapping up Kubera, the National Award-winner will kickstart the shooting of director Arun Matheswaran’s Ilaiyaraaja Biopic, which stars him in the titular role.
