Dhanush's banner Wunderbar Films produced Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in 2015, starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. The film is helmed by Vignesh Shivan who subsequently fell in love with Nayanthara on the film sets and eventually tied the knot. While Nayanthara had requested Dhanush to use the film's footage in her Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, Dhanush denied it. Further, Nayanthara penned an open letter, calling out Dhanush for his behaviour and refusal to grant permission and alleged vengeance against her and her husband. Nevertheless, the documentary did contain the footage of the film when it premiered.
Now, Dhanush has moved the Madras High Court against Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan on the grounds of copyright infringement. The suit was filed and came before the hearing of Justice Abdul Quddhose. Dhanush has sought to take proceedings against Netflix as well. Stay tuned to OTTplay to know the latest update regarding this case.
