The Gray Man will have its Netflix premiere on July 22.
Dhanush, along with his kids Yatra and Linga, attended the international premiere of The Gray Man in Los Angeles recently. They were all dressed up and strolled the red carpet together. The film, directed by The Russo Brothers, (known for Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, will be released on Netflix on July 22.
Dhanush shared a few pics with Linga and Yatra from The Gray Man premiere. The actor has been promoting The Gray Man in the United States for the past few days. The Russo Brothers introduced Dhanush as the person who received 10 million Twitter mentions in the previous 4-5 months at the premiere.
Dhanush discussed his involvement in the production during the post-screening press conference in Los Angeles on Monday. When asked how he got the role, he remarked, "I don't know how I ended up in this picture." Everyone in the room, including the actor's co-stars, was seen laughing, in reaction to his statement.
Further, he added, "I was happy and quite excited. Of course, I don't have much to say about the film. I was overjoyed and seeking a chance to learn and explore."
Talking about the experience of working on the much-anticipated action thriller, Dhanush said, "This movie is a roller coaster, it has everything, action, drama, pace and a big chase. I am very grateful that I got to do a modest role in this movie full of incredible people."
The Gray Man is based on a 2009 novel by Mark Greaney. The film is centred around two killers: a freelance assassin Gentry (Ryan Gosling) and Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former associate of Gentry at the CIA and on a worldwide hunt for him. Dhanush's character Avik San is one of the world's top assassins.
The ensemble cast includes Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard, Regé-Jean Page, Julia Butters, Eme Ikwuakor, and Scott Haze.
According to Netflix, fans can win tickets to the India premiere of The Gray Man by participating in a contest, from July 12 onwards. "...Gentry was once a highly-skilled, Agency-sanctioned merchant of death. But now the tables have turned and Six is the target, hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former cohort at the CIA, who will stop at nothing to take him out. Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) has his back. He'll need it," read the film's official synopsis.
