The star couple announced their divorce on January 17 this year.
Dhanush announced his separation from his wife, filmmaker-dancer Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth after 18 years of marriage, in January this year. The news shocked both the industry and its fans. Both asked that everyone respect their decision and give them the privacy they needed.
While Rajinikanth was exerting significant effort to reconnect his daughter with Dhanush, we learn the couple has equally been discussing how to work things out and get back together.
Reliable sources tell OTTplay, “Dhanush and Aishwaryaa are open to resolving their disagreement amicably while keeping in mind the needs of their children Linga and Yatra. They have been and will continue to be wonderful parents. Aishwaryaa will soon move into Dhanush's home on the East Coast Road.”
However, it's uncertain if they'll make a public declaration about their reconciliation, on social media.
Months after the divorce was declared final, Dhanush's director-father Kasturi Raja, told a Tamil publication that there was a difference of opinion between the two.
“Aishwarya and Dhanush are not separated. They're merely fighting because they have different opinions. Thus, it was a typical family argument. Both are currently staying in Hyderabad while out of town. I called them and counselled them as well,” he was quoted as saying by Daily Thanthi.
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa tied the knot in 2004.
Aishwarya made her directorial debut with the Tamil movie 3, which featured the popular Why This Kolaveri Di song and starred Dhanush and Shruti Haasan in the key roles. Then, she went on to direct Vai Raja Vai, a black comedy crime thriller, which featured Dhanush in a cameo.
Aishwaryaa was also appointed UN Women’s Advocate for gender equality in 2016. She would then make her Bollywood debut in the upcoming movie, Oh Saathi Chal. It comes with the tagline ‘An extraordinary true love story’.
The film is bankrolled by Meenu Aroraa of Cloud 9 Pictures, who recently backed Amitabh Bachchan's Jhund.
Aishwaryaa recently made her directorial comeback after a nine-year hiatus by helming a music video that Ankit Tiwari wrote. Payani, the Tamil version, is written by Viveka and sung by Anirudh Ravichander. It is titled Musafir in Hindi, Sanchari in Telugu, and Yatrakkaran in Malayalam.
On the other hand, Dhanush, who was recently seen in Naane Varuven, which grossed Rs 65 crore at the box office, has Vaathi/Sir and Captain Miller, up for release.
