Dhamaal deserved more recognition, I didn’t get an award for it: Jaaved Jaaferi

Jaaved Jaaferi, who is best remembered for playing Manav in the movie Dhamaal, feels that the film should have received more recognition. He also spilled that he didn’t get any award for the movie which has now become a cult. Jaaved is currently promoting his latest movie, Jaadugar.

While talking to Bollywood Hungama, this actor revealed that he didn’t get an award for Dhamaal. Those who have seen the film, know how important Manav is to the movie.

“It’s not that easy,” Jaaved shared about his role. He also felt that the movie deserved more recognition than it got.

Dhamaal has been turned into a franchise with three installments already released. Although none of the installments worked as well as the first, they all had their own charm.

The second installment which released was called Double Dhamaal. Kangana Ranaut and Malaika Arora joined the franchise for the film.

The third installment, Total Dhamaal, on the other hand, saw Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Madhuri Dixit take over. All the movies were helmed by Indra Kumar.

Jaaved Jaaferi has won two awards. He won best comedian award for Salaam Namaste. The actor also took home the National Award for best film on social issues in 2011 for Inshaallah, Football. He was the producer on the film.

Jaadugar also stars Jitendra Kumar and Arushi Sharma in the lead roles. The film released directly on OTT on July 15.
