The upcoming film marks the directorial debut of Razneesh Ghai.
In less than a day, Kangana Ranaut’s spy thriller Dhaakad will hit the big screen. The highly-awaited film promises to showcase Ranaut’s most fiercest avatar yet as intelligence agent Agni. In recent times, many extremely anticipated Bollywood films have failed to live up to their hype when it came to their performances at the box office. Will Ranaut’s outing as Agent Agni break the box office jinx that seems to plague Bollywood?
Several reports predict a decent opening for the upcoming action thriller, with the film expected to surpass the opening day numbers of several recent Bollywood action flicks, such as John Abraham’s Attack which had a slow start at the box office. While Attack managed to rake in about Rs 3.5 crores, Dhaakad is expected to earn almost double that amount. Many reports predict that Dhaakad might earn Rs 6-8 crores at the box office on its opening day. Given the positive responses from audiences for the film’s trailers, which have collectively garnered over 50 million views as of today, the box office numbers are expected to pick up over the course of the weekend. The film was recently given an ‘A’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification.

Dhaakad will clash with Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 at the box office. However, reports state that the clash is not expected to affect the opening day numbers of either film, which belong to different genres.
The upcoming spy thriller film stars Ranaut in the lead, while Arjun Rampal essays the role of the antagonist Rudraveer. Divya Dutta, Saswata Chatterjee and Sharib Hashmi also feature in prominent roles in the film. The film is directed by Razneesh Ghai in his feature directorial debut.
Dhaakad will be released in theatres on May 20, 2022, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
