Directed by Razneesh Ghai, the film also stars Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, and Saswata Chatterjee.
Kangana Ranaut's action film Dhaakad has another terrible day at the box office. The film only reportedly managed to sell 20 tickets across the country on day 8. It earned only Rs 4,420 that day. Overall, the film, directed by Razneesh Ghai, has collected only Rs 3 crore so far.
The film Dhaakad is said to have been made on a big budget, between Rs 80 crore and Rs 90 crore and now, it is also reportedly facing issues to bag a profitable OTT deal due to its disastrous run at the box office. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the makers of Kangana Ranaut’s film had decided not to sell the film’s OTT and satellite rights until after its theatrical release, hoping to get a better deal. Such rights of a film were usually sold before its release, but since Dhaakad’s makers decided to go this way, there was no mention of the film’s OTT and the satellite partners in its opening slate.
Apart from Kangana, the film also features Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, and Saswata Chatterjee. A part of the OTTplay review of the film reads: "Right after the introduction, the scenes are unrelated, random, and make you wonder what happened. Soon, you see a red-haired Kangana out of the blue, with no context whatsoever. This disrupts your viewing experience."
On the other hand, Kartik Aaryan's horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which was released on the same day has been doing exceptionally well at the box office. The film is inching closer to Rs 100 crore. Directed by Anees Bazmee directorial, the film is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 film, Bhool Bhulaiya, which features Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. The second instalment features Kiara Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav in important roles, apart from Kartik Aaryan.
