Devi Chowdhurani: Adipurush action director Pradyumna Kumar Swain joins Srabanti Chatterjee’s film team

Director Subhrajit Mitra opens up on his pre-production work of a film that features Srabanti Chatterjee, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Arjun Chakrabarty, and others

Director Subhrajit Mitra is all set to begin the shooting of his ambitious project, Devi Chowdhurani, with Srabanti Chatterjee, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Arjun Chakrabarty and others in the lead. The technical recce has been going on in full swing. Now, Adipurush action director Pradyumna Kumar Swain has also joined the team.

Talking to OTTplay about the recce, Subhrajit said, “We have just completed the action tech recce. We have traveled approximately 4,220 km – up and down – in the last couple of months. This one was an extensive trip on the road. In West Bengal, we went to Purulia, Birbhum, North Bengal, Srerampore, Chandannagar, and the outskirts of Kolkata. Besides Bengal, we also went to Jharkhand and Bihar. We completed this whole recce.”

Subhrajit also welcomed Pradyumna on board as an action choreographer. “He is the action director of Adipurush. After working on a Rs 600 cr film, he is working on a Bengali film just because he liked the subject and the script. I am really grateful to him. I thank Hema Upadhyay and Bonny Kapoorji for helping me connect with him,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sham Kaushal has already been on board. According to the team, he will be designing the action sequences.

Subhrajit is waiting to start the shooting. “We are done with the preparations. Now it is the time to execute. The training is on and I hope we will start soon,” said the director.
