The trailer of the mythological film Adipurush has been finally dropped. Starring actors Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles, this film is based on the Sanskrit epic Ramayana.
At the trailer launch event in Mumbai today, the cast and crew of the film were present in full attendance. As they entered the venue, they were welcomed with joy and excitement, many of whom chanted Jai Shri Ram, Bajrang Bali Ki Jai.
Actor Devdatta G Nage was also present at the event. He is essaying the role of Lord Hanuman in the film Adipurush. Addressing the people present at the event, he began speaking enthusiastically and said, “People often ask me where is Goddess Saraswati. I recall the day when I arrived on the sets of Adipurush... I saw a glimpse of Goddess Saraswati.”
“Just now I observed the crowd chanting Jai Shri Ram and Jai Siya-Ram. Even on the sets of the film, I used to witness a similar scenario where the cast and the crew used to pray for Lord Shri Ram and Goddess Sita. I feel blessed to play the role of Lord Hanuman in the film. I feel Bajrang Bali is immortal and Chiranjeevi. He will always stay with us,” he adds.
In the film, Sanon essays the role of Janaki and Prabhas plays the role of Raghav. Both these characters draw inspiration from mythological beings, Goddess Sita and Lord Rama.
For Sanon, this would be the second theatrical release this year after featuring in Shehzada. Addressing her fans at the launch event, Sanon expressed that she feels emotional and said Adipurush is “beyond” being just a film for the entire team.
“Thank you Om (Raut; director), for considering me to play Janaki, for having that faith in me. Because very few actors can get the opportunity to play a role like this in their lifetime. I feel extremely blessed. I’ve tried to play the part with utmost sincerity, belief and with respect. I had belief already, but during filming, it only increased because I kept understanding the part,” says Sanon.
