Devaki Nandana Vasudeva is the second film of Ashok Galla, the grandson of late superstar Krishna and nephew to Mahesh Babu. He forayed into films with the surprisingly delightful action comedy Hero and has joined forces with Arjun Jandyala for his sophomore project. Prasanth Varma has written the story for the film which introduces Miss India fame Manasa Varanasi as the female lead.

The title and the teaser of the film were launched today. A voiceover in the film suggests that he either has to kill to survive or can’t escape death. There’s a mythical backdrop to the tale - with a Krishna idol in the backdrop hinting that the protagonist is the almighty’s favourite child. In every century, there will be demon but also a divine influence that’ll end the former’s reign, a dialogue says.

Ashok Galla, sporting a moustache, is quite convincing in an out-and-out mass avatar and his body language is an apt reflection of his ease with the action sequences. Manasa Varanasi’s good looks, assuring screen presence get a decent showcase in Devaki Nandana Vasudeva’s teaser, where Adipurush actor Devdatta Gajanan Nage plays the antagonist.

The vibrant cinematography, well-mounted action sequences, complemented by Bheems Cecrioleo’s music score are among the major highlights of the teaser. It’ll be interesting to see how Ashok Galla, who played an urban lad in Hero, proves his worth as an action hero in a rural setup this time. The film is expected to release in the first half of 2024.

Devayani plays another key role in Devaki Nandana Vasudeva, a film produced by Somineni Balakrishna under Lalithambika Productions. The action drama has two cinematographers - Prasad Murella, Rasool Ellore. Tammiraju is the editor of the film while Burra Sai Madhav has written the dialogues. Nallapaneni Yamini is the presenter and GM Shekher is the art director.
