Dev Patel on watching Koyla

During an interview with Anushka Arora, the actor was asked about his experiences of watching action films over the years and Dev replied that he is a huge fan of action cinema and the first thing he watched as a kid was Bruce Lee. He revealed his obsession with the action genre started with Bruce Lee and later every inch of his wall space was covered with Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Donnie Yen. He added that there were John Wick films too.

Further speaking about his admiration for action-adventure films, Dev added that there has been a Bollywood influence as well. “I remember watching this film as a kid, I quite didn't understand it, but it was called Koyla. He couldn’t talk and he was holding this knife, and he had those red eyes while he was drenched in blood. I think that was just burnt into my psyche since a young age," he said.
