One of the Bollywood's iconic actor, Dev Anand is frequently mentioned and praised as the public's favorite actor. His career in Indian film spanned over six decades, during which time he was recognized with awards like the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002.

Dev Anand never settled for less and always lived a life like a king. Hence, the superstar bought a beautiful home, which was situated in Juhu near Iris Park, the first bungalow purchased by an actor in that affluent neighborhood. A 22-storey tower will replace the house.

According to a person familiar with the situation, Dev Anand's Juhu mansion has been sold to a real estate firm. Both the deal and the documentation have been completed. Due to its exceptional position and the nearby homes of well-known businesspeople, it was sold for between 350–400 crores. “Actors like Madhuri Dixit Nene and Dimple Kapadia also once lived in the apartments around the bungalow. The place will now be replaced by a 22 floors long tower,” the source also added.

Dev Anand spent 40 years of his life in this house

With his wife and actress, Kalpana Kartik and their kids, the actor had lived in that house for almost 40 years.

The sources also informed the portal that the residence where Anand spent "40 long years" is being sold due to a lack of caretakers. His daughter Devina stays in Ooty with her mother Kalpana Kartik, while his son Suniel stays put in the US. They decided to sell the home because there is no one in Mumbai who can take care of the property. For the same reason, they had actually sold some property in Panvel, Maharashtra, according to the source.

Dev Anand's other properties

Another source told the news portal that the proceeds from the sale of Dev Anand's studio ten years ago were used to purchase three apartments. Suniel received one, Devina received another, and his wife Kalpana received the third. So, everyone will receive a part of the property in Juhu as well.
