Gru & the gals are coming back, so are the Minions, thanks to the soon-arriving Despicable Me 4. The film will be having a theatrical release with the exciting addition of new characters & threats.

Directed by Minions co-creator Chris Renaud and The Secret Life of Pets 2 fame Patrick Delage, Despicable Me 4 features a strong team working behind the camera this time. Produced by the founder of Illumination, CEO Chris Meledandri and Brett Hoffman, the film’s screenplay was created by Emmy-winning creator of White Lotus, Mike White.
As the sixth addition to the billion-dollar Despicable Me franchise, including Minions and Minions: The Rise of Gru, Despicable Me 4 returns with a lot of expectations pinned on it. The film will enjoy an international theatrical release on July 3, 2024. Despicable Me 4 also dropped its official trailer recently, on January 29.
Despicable Me 4 trailer offers a decent glimpse of the plot without giving away any spoilers. The film follows the happy family of Gru, his wife Lucy, his three daughters and the Minions of course. Only, this time their family has a new member to count and cuddle. Gru Junior, Gru and Lucy’s baby son.

While Gru adores his son, Gru Jr. seems to only be capable of pouting sternly at his father, while giggling and cooing and cuddling his mother. If fatherhood for the fourth time is not challenging enough, now Gru must also whisk his family to a safe house, to protect them from the brand-new threat of Maxime Le Mal’s villain, and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina.
From heisting with a baby and fighting off honey badgers Minions filling the kitchen with popcorn and the vending machine with soda bombs, Despicable Me 4 promises to charm your pants off with its humorous and heartwarming journey.
Despicable Me 4 has a talented cast which will be returning to reprise their roles, with some new additions. Steve Carell will return as Gru, Kristen Wiig as his wife Lucy, Miranda Cosgrove as their adopted daughter Margo, Nev Scharrel and Dana Gaier as their daughters Agnes Gru and Edith Gru, and Steve Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom. Will Ferrel and Sofia Vergara join the cast as the new villains.
