Manoj Bajpayee will be seen in ZEE5's upcoming film, Despatch. The actor will play a fearless journalist in this thrilling film directed by Kanu Behl. Manoj as journalist Joy will unravel one of India's biggest scams. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala under RSVP Movies, the film is set to be released on the OTT platform on December 13 and you can also watch it with your OTTPlay Premium subscription. Ahead of the release, the makers shared a new poster of Despatch featuring Bajpayee.

Despatch new poster is out

On December 8, ZEE5 unveiled a new poster of Despatch featuring Manoj Bajpayee as a fearless journalist, Joy Bag. The poster shows many sides of Joy such as in happy, and revenge, and all set to unravel one of India's biggest scam moods. The text of the poster read, "Can Joy uncover one of India's biggest scams?"

Sharing the poster, they captioned it, "Mission successful or failed? 🤔 Find out in #Despatch premiering on 13th December, only on #ZEE5!"

Despatch plot

Manoj Bajpayee starrer Despatch will focus on one of India's biggest scams, the GDR 2G scam. For the unversed, the 2G spectrum case was a political controversy in which politicians and private officials of India's United Progressive Alliance (UPA) coalition government were allegedly involved in the sale or allocation of 122 2G spectrum licenses on terms favoring certain telecom operators.

Manoj Bajpayee on preparing for his role in Despatch

Speaking about the preparation for his role, Bajpayee shared in an interview that he has many very close friends who are investigative journalists from Delhi and Mumbai, people who he has been meeting for many years to really understand the nature of their job, the conflict and the dichotomy that they live with.

"This film explores both the inside and outside worlds of a journalist. In trying to navigate these two worlds, my feet sometimes went here and there and in all that, my knee got injured. It's still healing," he added.

Meanwhile, Despatch features Manoj Bajpayee as journalist Joy Bag, and Shahana Goswami will be seen as Shweta Bag. The film also casts Arrchita Agarwaal as Prerna Prakash, Anand Alkunte as S.I Bhonsle, Riju Bajaj as Tarun Khaitan, Purnendu Bhattacharya as Mallick, Prithvik Pratap as Jeethu Vishwas, Veena Mehta as Joy's Mother, Ajay Purkar as Prasad, Purnima Rathod as Mrs. Verma, Rii Sen as Noori, and more.

Meanwhile, Despatch, directed by Kanu Behl, the thriller film will be released on December 13 on ZEE5. You can also watch it with your OTTplay Premium subscription.
