Demonte Colony 2 on OTT: Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, Arulnithi’s film is a sequel to the 2015 Demonte Colony. It will release on August 15
Demonte Colony 2, the upcoming Tamil film, is set to release in theatres on August 15 for the occasion of Independence Day. Ahead of its release, the makers on Thursday announced that the film's digital and satellite rights have been bagged by ZEE5 and Zee Thamizh respectively.
Demonte Colony 2 is an upcoming horror thriller film, which stars actor Arulnithi in the lead role. The film is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and is the sequel to the duo’s 2015 film Demonte Colony. The sequel will be releasing alongside Vikram and Pa Ranjith’s Thangalaan, and Keerthy Suresh’s Raghu Thatha.
On Thursday, the makers of Demonte Colony announced that the digital and satellite rights of the film have been bagged by ZEE5 and ZEE Thamizh. The film will be made available on the platforms once Demonte Colony 2 finishes its theatrical run. Subsequently, the film will also be available on OTTplay Premium.

Demonte Colony is written and directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu. The cast includes actors Arulnithi, Priya Bhavanishankar, Antti Jaaskelainen, Tsering Dorjee, Arunpandian, Muthukumar, Meenakshi Govindarajan, Sarjano Khalid, Archana Ravichandran and others.
It is produced by Bobby Balachandran, Vijayasubramanian, and RC Rajkumar. The technical crew consists of Harish Kannan cranking the camera and Kumaresh as the editor. Sam CS has scored the music for the film.
Demonte Colony is available for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium. It starred Ramesh Thilak, Sananth, and Abishek Joseph George.
The film’s title is derived from a neighbourhood in Chennai that is allegedly haunted. However, the film is not based on the area, but about three youngsters who visit a haunted bungalow and bring back a cursed necklace. Demonte Colony opened to positive response at the time of its release.
It is to be noted that Ajay Gnanamuthu has planned to develop a franchise out of Demonte Colony, with other installments being planned by the makers. However, further details on the rest of the films are yet to be announced.
