Review:

The semi-finale episode, episode 7, commences with the very moment where Tanjiro surpassed himself in strength and left Inosuke-Zentisu in shock. This time, feeling challenged, Inosuke goes for the boulder too. With that, Zenitsu receives a surprise as well.

As Tanjiro completes the training, he might appear cartoonish but you can feel his pain through the screen. That is when Gyomei Himejima comes to his rescue.

As expected, Himejima's story is explored this time. All we can say that it is one of the most heartbreaking stories in all Demon Slayer. You also realize why Himejima is called the strongest Hashira in the very episode.

Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc episode 7 – Gyomei Himejima’s story to finally be explored in the semi-finale episode?

Genya is back once again, and there's a special surprise for those who missed Inosuke's face all this while. The two's meeting brings a lighter moment to the otherwise (literally) sad storyline in the episode.

Like predicted, Tanjiro heads over to Giyu Tomioka's training, only to find another surprise waiting for him. Two Hashiras are going head-to-head when battling with swords. Given that they are Hashiras, the scene is one of the better ones in the episode. It is what makes these two Hashiras in the first place.

Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa is very much in his character and his suggestion leaves Tanjiro fearful again. Nonetheless, he dashes towards a fight again. Of course, everything that happens in between and after, especially with Tanjiro's face, is hilarious.

Tomioka ends up being as goofy as Tanjiro, and just the thought with the scene will make you laugh out loud. Sanemi is just as fun, in his own way. That is, till he discovers Muzan's secret.

Everything strange begins. It makes you all too fuzzy-headed, even when one thing is clear - Muzan has something big planned and he's in no mood to wait any longer.

The episode ends in a surprise entry. You already know that most definitely this is a demon but what you do not get is how easily he has come to the battleground. Yes, Muzan is here and his entry is grand. It, of course, instills fear, especially because Ubuyashiki himself is his weakest right now.

Sanemi makes it to the post-credit this time around. Of course, it is fun-filled, given Tanjiro and Sanemi are in the same frame once again.

Verdict:

The makers have gone slow in the story this time around. They should have completed Gyomei Himejima’s story last time around, but it was among of the focus points in this episode. Like we mentioned, one of the focus points, the makers have tried to shift the focus from one place to another constantly and while that could confuse you, the pace is not something to complain about. The scenes, in themselves, are good, but the storyline could be improved. Nonetheless, this takes you towards the finale episode and the build-up to that is good, it is unexpected. It is what works best in the episode.
