Vincent Lindon, a French actor, will preside over the 75th Cannes Film Festival's Jury. On Saturday, May 28, during the closing ceremony, which will be carried live by France Télévisions and Brut, the actor who won Best Actor in 2015, will deliver the Palme d'Or to one of the 21 films in competition with the help of eight jury members.

Interestingly, Deepika Padukone has joined him as one of the jury members at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Along with the actor, the other jury members include Rebecca Hall (actor, producer, screenwriter, director), Noomi Rapace (actor), Jasmine Trinca (actor, director), Asghar Farhadi (director, producer, screenwriter), Ladj Ly (director, screenwriter, actor, producer), Jeff Nichols (director, screenwriter) and Joachim Trier (director, screenwriter).

In a statement, Lindon said that it's a wonderful pleasure and a source of pride to be entrusted with the splendid and significant job of chairing the jury of the 75th International Cannes Film Festival, amidst the commotion of all the events we are witnessing around the globe.

Together, they will aim to provide the best possible care for future films, all of which contain the same secret promise of courage, loyalty, and independence, with the mission of moving as many women and men as possible by speaking to them about their common wounds and joys. Culture aids in the ascension of the human soul and the aspiration for a better tomorrow.

While describing Deepika, the note stated that she is an Indian actor, producer, philanthropist, and businesswoman who is a great figure in her own country. She made her English-language film debut as the female lead in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage co-starring Vin Diesel. She has almost 30 feature films to her credit. She is also the founder of Ka Productions, which is responsible for the films Chhapaak and 83, both of which she starred in, as well as the upcoming feature The Intern. Her credits include Gehraiyaan and Padmaavat, as well as the award-winning and highly acclaimed film Piku.

She founded the Live Love Laugh Foundation in 2015 with the goal of de-stigmatizing mental illness and raising awareness about the importance of mental health. She was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World by Time Magazine in 2018.
